DURBAN – JOHANNESBURG OIL PIPELINE

Trench-Cat's participation in this oil pipeline, which will guarantee the supply of refined oil from the Indian Ocean to the major administrative cities has been definitive in guaranteeing a rapid execution and opening of trenches in very hard materials. The types of stone there are very abrasive sandstones, shales and Dolorite stone.

One of the keys to the success of this work was the generation of fine materials for the covering and laying of the piping. To do so, a 140 Tn TT 2850 was sent out with all its auxiliary equipment (workshop and spare parts lorry).

Another difficulty that had to be surmounted was the rainy season, as this year rains have been particularly heavy and have flooded major areas.

Thanks to the professionality, dedication and experience of the team that was sent to the area, and the technical quality of the machinery, the difficulties which a project of this magnitude involves were successfully overcome, and the satisfaction of the people in charge on the builder's side is the best proof of a job well done.
